In Anykščiai a car lets you combine the town and its surroundings: the Narrow-Gauge Railway Museum at the railway station, Puntukas Stone in the woods and Kalita Hill. Start at the museum, which tells the story of the narrow-gauge line, then drive to the stone. The idea suits summer and autumn; in winter choose only the sights that are open. You will find more about the town on the Anykščiai page. Practical tip: in November the Narrow-Gauge Railway Museum is open daily 10:00–16:30, and from December to April only on Saturdays and Sundays 10:00–17:00. We found no opening hours for Kalita Hill in an official source, so check them before you go. The museum occupies several railway station buildings.

112 km one way, about 1 h 39 min of driving. Fuel there and back about €28.41 (an estimate). Calculate the fuel: Anykščiai from Kaunas by car: the narrow-gauge railway museum and Puntukas Stone
