Alytus has the most outdoor sights: the Nemunas loop, a pedestrian bridge, hill forts and the City Garden. On a rainy day go to the Regional Museum (closed on Sunday and Monday); on a dry one, to Punia hill fort. It suits spring and autumn, when it is dry and bright. Practical tip: the bus station is about 3.7 km from Town Hall Square, so choose a bed in the centre and take the city bus; we did not check public transport to Punia, so you will need a car or a taxi. The City Garden and the White Rose Bridge make a short walk before the bus home.
