Birštonas from Kaunas: Vytautas Hill and the resort

Birštonas is the easiest resort for a day trip from Kaunas. Climb Vytautas Hill for the view of the Nemunas bend, stroll around the Tulpė sanatorium and look into the town museum. Buses take about an hour, so you do not need a car. The idea suits any season; in winter the resort is quieter. Practical tip: the Birštonas Museum and the Sacral Museum are open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00–18:00 and on Sunday 10:00–16:00, and closed on Monday; on the day before a public holiday the hours are cut by one hour.
