Vilnius to Warsaw by train 2026

Ad. On some links we earn a commission if you book. The price does not change for you. How we earn (in Lithuanian)
Two LTG Link trains a day run from Vilnius to Warsaw, with one change at Mockava. The journey takes 7 h 32 min–7 h 40 min, and a second-class ticket costs from €15.90 per person. The bus is faster: the fastest FlixBus service takes 6 h 25 min, and the cheapest FlixBus ticket cost from €14.49 (for the 13 and 15 November services). We checked the times and prices on 2026-10-06 for departure on 27 November 2026 and return on 29 November.
When the trains run
LTG Link says that Warsaw can be reached twice a day and that the journey between the capitals takes about 7 h 30 min (LTG Link, checked on 2026-10-06). A search for a given date showed these services. In Poland the clock is one hour behind Lithuania, so the times in Warsaw are local time.
| Direction | Departure | Arrival | Journey time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vilnius–Warsaw, Fri 27 November | 06:27 | 13:07 | 7 h 40 min |
| Vilnius–Warsaw, Fri 27 November | 12:35 | 19:07 | 7 h 32 min |
| Warsaw–Vilnius, Sun 29 November | 08:53 | 17:25 | 7 h 32 min |
| Warsaw–Vilnius, Sun 29 November | 14:53 | 23:25 | 7 h 32 min |
The arrival station in Warsaw appears in the search as Central (Warszawa Centralna). The train also stops at the East and West stations.
Why you have to change
The Vilnius–Warsaw services run with a change at Mockava station in Lithuania. The change takes place on the same platform. If the Polish train has not yet arrived, LTG Link says to wait on the current train. There is one ticket for both legs, because under the terms of carriage a single contract of carriage is made (terms, checked on 2026-10-06).

What the train costs compared with the bus
LTG Link uses dynamic pricing: a second-class ticket from €15.90, regular price €29.00. The cheap ticket cannot be changed or refunded, and their number is limited.
On the same days FlixBus showed direct services. The fastest bus from Vilnius left at 00:05 and took 6 h 25 min. The cheapest FlixBus ticket for the 13 and 15 November services cost from €14.49 per person (guide to the bus (in Lithuanian), checked on 2026-10-07); we do not compare them directly with the train dates’ prices. In all, the search showed 32 direct services. You will find more about them in the guide Vilnius to Warsaw by bus (in Lithuanian).
The train suits you if you want to travel on one ticket system and at only two fixed times. If time matters more, choose the bus.
What to know before you buy
- When to buy. Online and in the LTG Link app, tickets are on sale up to 60 days ahead, and at ticket machines up to 7 days ahead.
