The fastest way from Vilnius airport to the city is by train: it takes 7 min to the railway station, and a ticket costs €0.45 (with the LTG Link 50% discount until 31 December). Bus 88 to Europos Square takes 24–37 min, and a ticket costs €1.25. A taxi to Cathedral Square costs about €22 by day, according to the airport’s price board.
We checked the prices and timetables on 2026-10-06. Train tickets for December days are not on sale yet, so the train times are taken from the nearest days on sale, and the bus times from the December timetable file.

The airport stop is a 2-minute walk from the arrivals terminal. You reach it by stairs or by lift. The train stops at Vilnius railway station (Geležinkelio g. 16), close to the city centre (airport page, checked on 2026-10-08).
A dated LTG Link search showed these services. The price is the same everywhere: €0.45 for an adult with the LTG Link 50% discount on local routes. It applies to journeys 9 October–31 December (terms, checked on 2026-10-09).

The airport page gives other intervals (for example, at weekends from Vilnius from 06:55). The exact times are shown by the ticket search, so open it again before your flight (search: airport–Vilnius).
Where to buy a ticket. Online and in the LTG Link app, at “Perlo” terminals, at ticket machines and on the train. At the airport stop the ticket machine stands outside, on the platform. Seats on the train are not reserved.
Are there service breaks. On the LTG Link timetables page the Vilnius–airport–Jašiūnai line has an annual timetable valid from 29 March. There is no service-break timetable for this line on that page (checked on 2026-10-06).

Buses 88, 2 and the night bus 88N
The bus suits you if you are going towards the Gates of Dawn or the MO Museum. The airport shows five city routes (airport page, checked on 2026-10-08):

- 2. Airport–Vikingų g.–Liepkalnio g.–Station.
- 1. Airport–Vikingų g.–Station.
- 3G. Express bus Airport–Centre–Fabijoniškės.

The December timetable file (stops.lt, checked on 2026-10-06) shows this pattern of departures from the airport:

The Sunday and 25 December pattern in the file is the same as on Saturday. At weekends Judu states that the 88 runs to the Islandijos g. stop, so check the final stop on the stops.lt page.
Tickets. A 30-minute ticket costs €1.00 and a 60-minute ticket €1.25 (Judu prices, checked on 2026-10-08). If you tap a contactless bank card on the validator, you automatically buy a 60-minute ticket. Judu sells its card at the Narvesen shop terminals.
The “Airport Express” bus to the bus station
If you are travelling on from Vilnius by bus, “Airport Express” connects the airport and the bus station. The service costs €3 and runs daily 08:00–20:40. At the bus station the services leave from platform 1 (Toks page, checked on 2026-10-08).
Taxis from Vilnius airport
Drivers on the airport taxi line may not charge more than the rates in the table (price table, checked on 2026-10-06):
- Pick-up charge: €3.00.
- 1 km by day (06:00–22:00): €1.75.

- Waiting: €0.55 per minute.
- Approximate price: to Cathedral Square €22 by day and €26 at night, to the bus station €16 by day and €19 at night.

Before you get in, check that it is an airport taxi: its information board shows the rates. Always ask for a receipt for the journey. The Bolt pick-up point is next to the intercity bus stops, where 10 places are set aside for Bolt drivers only (airport page).
How to choose
- A quick trip to the centre or a train onward: the train, 7 min.
- You need the Gates of Dawn or the MO Museum: bus 88, 12–20 min.
- A flight late in the evening or early in the morning: there are no trains, so take the 88N or a taxi.
- With heavy luggage and tired: a taxi, but with the rate board on the wall and a receipt.
Check the timetable in advance over the holidays. On 25 December the bus file shows the weekend pattern, and train tickets for that day are not yet on sale, so we have not confirmed their times.
Where next
Once in Vilnius, choose the destination page about Vilnius or a weekend trip from Kaunas to Vilnius (in Lithuanian). We describe how to buy a train ticket in a separate guide. If you are flying home, read the rules for liquids in hand luggage (in Lithuanian).
