Vilnius bus station (Sodų g. 22) and railway station (Geležinkelio g. 16) stand side by side: it is about 250 m on foot between them, roughly 3 min. From each of them it is about 800 m, some 10–11 min, to the Gates of Dawn. The main thing to know: not all FlixBus services leave from the bus station. Distances follow the OpenStreetMap pedestrian routes.

Where the two stations are

  • Bus station: Sodų g. 22. Address and location per OpenStreetMap (search, checked on 2026-10-06). You will find services and opening hours on the station’s website autobusustotis.lt.
  • Railway station: Geležinkelio g. 16 (LTG Link list of stations, checked on 2026-10-06).

On foot between the stations, by the OpenStreetMap pedestrian route, it is about 250 m. From the bus station to the Gates of Dawn it is about 810 m, and from the railway station about 750 m. This is the length of the pedestrian route, calculated without a suitcase. With luggage, allow more time.

Where FlixBus leaves from

On the FlixBus Vilnius–Riga route page, four stops in Vilnius are named: the bus station, Savanorių prospektas and two Studentų Street stops (the car park and the university). The page adds a note that the latest address will be in the ticket (page, checked on 2026-10-07).

The table shows direct services from Vilnius on 12 December 2026, for one adult (search example, checked on 2026-10-07):

Direction Services in all Bus station Savanorių prospektas Studentų g.
Riga 20 9 4 7 (car park)
Warsaw 32 14 12 6 (university)
Kaunas 22 22 – –
Klaipėda 10 10 – –

Riga and Warsaw have many services that do not leave from the bus station, while Kaunas and Klaipėda were only from it on that day. Other search results may differ, so each time look at the departure point of the specific service.

How not to go wrong

  1. When you buy a ticket, open the service details and look at the name of the departure stop.
  2. Check the address in the ticket: FlixBus says that it will carry the latest information.
  3. If the service leaves from Savanorių prospektas or Studentų Street, do not wait at the bus station.
  4. We have described the routes to Riga and Warsaw separately: Vilnius to Riga by bus (in Lithuanian) and Vilnius to Warsaw by bus (in Lithuanian).

From both stations it is easy to walk to the old town. You will find ideas on the Vilnius page and in the list of weekend trips from Vilnius (in Lithuanian). If you are going to Kaunas, compare bus and train. Flying? Read how to get from the airport to the city.
